Its cold but there's bargains to be had!
Carboots in January? One very mild first week in January where sellers were set-up early & buyers there even earlier! It inspired us to return the next week only to experience sub-zero conditions, which of course we wern't prepared for either mentally or in any other way. Professionals we were not....However, our next-door fellow carbooters and thankfully good friends! I believe - saved me from hyperthermia of the dying kind. They were armed with everything, out of their Corsa came... everything. In comparison we had nothing not even the trusty ground sheet to offer a meager barrier between us and the frozen ground beneath. They came with camping kettle, heater & stove....and bacon! Yes their tea & sarnies were more valuable than anything else on that day. Still we hot footed it off after making one major deal 'all of it for £20' ! Our friends persevered - respect they proved themselves to be master of all booties. We all did surprisingly well, happy to have made space for stock & as well some cash. So the moral is get out there, find out what things you have that can earn you some cash & spot some great spring/summer bargains! But wrap-up its extremely cold out there!
Into Feb and I've finally thawed...thinking of re-visiting the booty this weekend......
